STEP 1

If your grout was previously sealed, it must first be cleaned with Deep Clean Sealer Remover to allow the Color Seal to properly bond with your grout.

STEP 2

Clean the tile and grout with Easy Clean to fully prepare the grout to bond with the Color Seal grout colorant. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water.

STEP 3

When dry, use the flip-top applicator to lay a narrow bead of Color Sealer into a grout joint and brush thoroughly into the grout using a toothbrush applicator. Immediately remove the excess from the edges of the tiles using a damp (not wet) cloth and a light back and forth wiping motion. The Color Seal will stick to the grout and easily wipe off the tile surface.

STEP 4

To ensure a streak free finish, when an area is completed remove any excess residue or haze using a damp mop or cloth, followed by a dry towel buffing.

TIPS & TECHNIQUES

  • Don’t be afraid to get a little excess Color Seal on the tiles, that way you ensure you’ve covered the whole grout joint with Color Seal protection.
  • Work in small manageable sections and remove the excess Color Seal from the tile surfaces as you go.
  • For drastic color changes, more than 1 coat may be necessary.
  • Don’t allow excess material to dry on the surface of the tiles.
  • After wiping away the excess Color Seal, give the grout joint a final forward swipe with the toothbrush applicator without getting material on the tiles for a nice even finish.
  • Repair any cracked tiles or missing grout joints. Replace damaged grout with a grout color that is close to the original shade. An exact match is not necessary as the Color Seal will make all of your grout uniform.
  • The Color Seal dries quickly so your tile is ready for light foot traffic within 1 hour but the area should be kept dry for at least 10 days to allow the Color Seal to properly cure.
  • Use Maintain, a neutral pH cleaner for regular daily maintenance to avoid damaging the Color Seal finish.
